How can I enrol for a Cambridge ESOL exam? 

You can enrol through the language school you are attending or obtain an enrolment form directly from the Oxford Open Centre on the website. 


How do I pay for the exam? 

You must pay by cheque or postal order made payable to The Oxford Open Centre. 


When do I have to pay for the examination? 

You must send payment with your completed enrolment form. 


Where do I have to send the form and the money? 

You should send it to The Oxford Open Centre, PO Box 645, Banbury, Oxon OX16 6FX 


Can I choose any venue for my exam? 

No. The Oxford Open Centre will inform you by post where your exam will take place. 


When should I arrive at the examination venue? 

You must always arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of each exam. 


When will I have my FCE, CAE or CPE listening test? 

The listening tests always take place on the Saturday before the written papers. The Oxford Open Centre will send you details of the time and venue. 


Can I choose any day for my speaking test? 

No. The Oxford Open Centre will send you details of when and where your Speaking Test will take place. The speaking tests are usually in the two-week period before the written exams. 


What must I bring with me to the examination?

* Your statement of entry - this is your timetable
* Your passport or identity card
* Pens pencils and rubbers

For the speaking exam you will only need your statement of entry and ID.


Can I use a dictionary or spell checker during the exam? 

No.


If I cannot take the exam, do I get my money back? 

If you can provide official documentation such as a doctor's certificate which states the reason you cannot take the exam, you will be refunded a portion of the fees. 


Can I eat, drink or smoke during the exam? 

No.


When will I get my results? 

You will be sent a statement of results approximately 8 weeks after the exam and the certificate will be sent to you 4-6 weeks after this.
